Flyball Classes

Classes are located at the Edgard School Park in Garden Grove, CA through the City of Garden Grove Recreation Department.

We are always looking for fun, competitive people who love spending time with their dogs and who are willing to make a team commitment. Dogs of any age and breed are welcome.

When: Classes are on Friday nights between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. See class details for dates and times.

Beginning Flyball Class

Flyball is a high energy sport involving running, jumping, and retrieving. This class teaches the basics of flyball. Only friendly dogs with off-leash control please. Notes:

Time: 6:00PM - 7:00PM

Bring to class:

  • Chair
  • Poop bags
  • 6' non-metal leash (or longer)
  • Vaccination records
  • Water, toys and treats for your dog

Prerequisites:

  • Dog (and owner) must be sociable with other dogs and people.
  • Dog must know basic pet manners and commands
  • Children must be 14 years or older.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost: $60.00 for 6 sessions

Advanced Flyball Class

This class is for dogs that are already competing in flyball. Training will include focus, passing, and preparation for team racing. Handlers will learn how to time passes, put together line-ups and run a four dog team.

Time: 7:00PM - 8:00PM

Bring to class:

  • 6' non-metal leash (or longer)
  • Vaccination records
  • Water, toys and treats for your dog

Note: Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost: $65.00 for 10 sessions

Nikki Myers, CPDT-KA,

Nikki has been involved in dog training and sports for more than 20 years. In 1994 she was first introduced to clicker training. Since then she has used clicker training in agility, flyball, obedience, and tricks training. Nikki is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and has been an instructor for DogPACT since 2001, teaching agility, private, in-home pet manners, and group pet manners classes.

Nikki is a founding member of the Woof Gang Flyball club and has traveled across the country to teach flyball at the Iron Dogs Sports Camps. Nikki specializes in motivating dogs and their owners, and in applying the lessons she teaches in her classes to real-life settings.
